Gina Haywood is a multi-disciplinary artist and tutor who specializes in drawing with charcoal.

Her work often depicts a micro view of organic specimens in order to explore the transient beauty of nature.

Drawn to Charcoal -2 Day Workshop – Materials list

Stick of Willow/vine charcoal & a stick of compressed charcoal (4B)

Stick of white chalk or conte

Visual diary (A4 or A3 size)

2B pencil

2 sheets of 200gsm A3 cartridge

1 sheet of Stonehenge paper (ice white or warm white -available @Artery)

A3 drawing board & bulldog clips

Thick towel to roll up (for elevation) or a desk easel

Masking tape

White plastic eraser & a putty eraser

Small craft knife

Piece of medium sandpaper

 

Small water jar & several brushes

Soft rag

Apron

Disposable thin latex gloves

Cloth dust mask

 

Digital camera or smart phone

Please bring along any other materials/tools you think might be useful.

 

Visual reference materials & some extra paper/tools will be provided by the tutor.
