Artist in Conversation - Katy Woodroffe

About this event

Katy Woodroffe lives and works in Hobart. Her work has been featured extensively in solo exhibitions both within Australia and overseas. Travel has been an important influence on her arts practice and she has been awarded many international residencies, including Paris (twice), Greece, India and Spain. A recurring theme in Katy’s recent work has been the historical implications of the early settlement of Tasmania. This culminated in a major exhibition, Family Heirloom, at the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Art in Hobart in 2018/19. The exciting opportunity to further extend these ideas internationally has resulted in an exhibition in the Netherlands in 2020/21 where Katy has collaborated with Dutch artists. Katy’s work is held in major public collections as well as corporate, tertiary and private collections within Australia and overseas. She is a passionate artist who has achieved so many accolades. We are thrilled that she is able to give us an insight into her latest exhibition at Handmark Gallery.
