An introduction to materials and techniques used for travel journals. 

Here are suggestions for materials for the workshop:

1. Watercolour or gouache (see suggested colours below but please feel free to just bring what you have ... you only need one colour)

2. USK concertina book or similar (try and get hot pressed watercolour paper as it is smoother to draw on).
    If you are not ready to purchase a concertina book, please feel free to bring a Standard book or simply watercolour paper (hot pressed preferred and 300g).
    If you do buy a book, look for a sketchbook around 90mm x 140mm or a size that fits into a pocket. 

3. Micador water brush. 

4. UniPen (or similar) waterproof pen 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5 any colour. 
 
5. Pencils if you wish but I no longer use them for travel journals. 

Paint Colour suggestions;
• Cadmium Lemon
• Cadmium Yellow
• Cerulean Blue
• French Ultramarine 
• Cadmium Red
• Payne’s Grey
• Yellow Ochre
• other favourite colours
