About this event
Including art in your travels requires a bit of planning. Your kit needs to be light, small and practical. Vicki would like to share what works well for her as she creates on the move. It's a bit of drawing, bit of painting, bit of urban sketching, etc.
Join Vicki as we look at what to take, selecting your subject and several techniques to use with your limited materials.
We will be a tonal drawing using tombow pens, another using fine line pens and another adding colour to the mix - your choice - watercolour or water soluble coloured pencils. We will also look at custom making your own sketchbook to suit what you want to use on your travels.
Materials List:
HB mechanical pencil, any sort, soft rubber
Fine line pens, like Unipin 0.1, 0.3, 0.7
Tombow pens, dual ends, N15 black, N65 mid grey, N95 light grey
Posca pen, white 0.7
Colours - any watercolours you have - red, yellow, blue - we will look at options to make it easy for travel.
Water soluble coloured pencils
Paper, sketchbook, about 200gsm, any size. These are just technique exercises before your trip! You might like to try some coloured papers, too.
Backing board for your paper.
Invisible tape.
