Introduction.

What stone paper is made from
Its 100% tree free, waterproof and sustainable
Demonstration
A simple wash
Mark making using a variety of mediums

Having a go.

Doing a wash and experimenting with mark making using a variety of mediums including ink, watercolours, inktense pencils, etc
Experimenting with wide variety of tools, brushes, sticks, old credit cards, etc
Experimenting with a variety of techniques to change the texture including salt, cling wrap and rubbing alcohol (rubbing alcohol will be used outdoors only)
Also experimenting with the effects of bottle spray, splattering and a light sprinkle of pure pigments in a variety of colours.

Mounting a miniature painting.

Discuss briefly composition where within every larger painting one can usually find a smaller painting
Each participant will frame up a miniature with a mount and foam core backing provided to take home.

Materials are included in the cost of the course.
A couple of weeks ahead of the course a list of practical things to bring, will be sent out. eg, apron, old towels, etc
