"Still Life Painting workshop" with Sebastian Galloway

This is a 2-day workshop.

Workshop Notes

For this workshop the painting of the still life image will be demonstrated in oils on a wood panel coated with white primer. The reference image will be drawn on the surface prior to the workshop.

Workshop participants can choose their preferred substrate for the painting, for example canvas, wooden board or paper suitable for painting on.

Sebastian will use an ipad to display the reference image while painting. Print outs of the reference image will be available for participants or you are welcome to bring and use your own screen if this method is preferred.

The exact colours are not essential but a similar colours are recommended for this image. For acrylic painters a slow drying medium may be helpful for the techniques used in the workshop.

The brushes used by Sebastian are chosen for their precision and soft blending capabilities. At least one brush suitable for fine detail and one soft blending brush are recommended.
